Welcome to Awana at McCook E-Free! Our Awana program is designed to help children develop a deep love for God, grow in their faith, and build lasting friendships.
AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed," a reference to 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (NIV)
Awana is a fun and dynamic Bible-based program that focuses on teaching children about God’s Word through engaging activities, scripture memorization, and exciting games. It’s a place where kids can learn about Jesus in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment.
Awana is open to children PreK through 5th Grade. Our program is divided into different age groups to ensure that each child receives age-appropriate teaching and activities:
Cubbies (Ages 3-5):
Sparks (Grades K-2):
T&T (Truth & Training) (Grades 3-5):
Awana meets every Wednesday from 6:30pm-8:00pm with dinner served from 6:00pm-6:30pm. The program runs from September through April.
Each evening consists of:

Check-In
Note: There are at least two adults in each club, although we strive for three to enable more one-on-one help with the clubbers. Every adult working with kids has undergone a background check and child safety training.
